Decisions of the Disciplinary Committee of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (‘Institute’) against members pursuant to Rule 18(1) of the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (Disciplinary) Rules 2002

Soo Seong Chuan (19068) as a partner of JSC Corporate Advisory PLT (“the Firm”) had been punished and imposed a fine of RM4,000-00 and costs of RM4,000-00 by the Disciplinary Committee of the Institute on 26/7/2021 for advertising in the Firm’s Facebook account  on or about 13/7/2020  that he is in the business of providing audit and taxation services, which may lead the public at large to infer that he is qualified to provide audit and tax services when he in fact does not possess a valid audit and/or tax licence issued by the relevant authority.

Mohammad Tarmizi Bin Misnadar (24830) as a sole proprietor of MZ Consulting & Corporate Services (“Business”) had been punished and imposed a fine of RM4,000-00 and costs of RM4,000-00 by the Disciplinary Committee of the Institute on 26/7/2021 for advertising, promoting and/or representing in the Business’ websites at http://www.mzconsulting.com.my/, https:// mzconsultingco.com/ and the Business’ Facebook page on or about 13/4/2020 that the Business is an audit firm which offers amongst others, auditing services, which may lead the public at large to infer that he is qualified to provide auditing services, when in fact he does not possess a valid audit license issued by the relevant authority, and neither the Business is an audit firm.
