Choo Kok Poon (7832) as the sole proprietor of M/S Choo & Co (‘the Firm’) had been punished and imposed a fine of RM1,000-00 and costs of RM2,000-00 by the Disciplinary Committee of the Institute on 17/1/2020 for failing to return documents as requested by the Practice Review Committee of the Institute pursuant to S.550 and Statement on Practice Review in Appendix IV of the Institute’s By-Laws respectively despite reminders sent to him.
Lee Fong Yen (1556) as the sole proprietor of M/S F Y Lee Co (‘the Firm’) had been punished and imposed a fine of RM2,000-00 and costs of RM2,500-00 by the Disciplinary Committee of the Institute on 17/1/2020 for refusing to submit to the Practice Review Department of the Institute, the audit clients listing of the Firm as required under S.550 and Statement on Practice Review in Appendix IV of the Institute’s By-Laws respectively during the course of the practice review on the Firm despite written reminders to him.
Low Chong Chuan (529) a partner of Messrs. Low & Co (‘the Firm’) had been punished and imposed a fine of RM3,000-00 and costs of RM2,500-00 by the Disciplinary Committee of the Institute on 17/1/2020 after the Firm had been rated as ‘unsatisfactory’ as indicated in the Follow-up Review Report dated 2/7/2018 which detailed the weaknesses in the audit work performed.
