MDEC Reaffirms Commitment to Malaysia’s AI Nation 2030 Vision
The Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) reaffirmed its commitment to supporting the Malaysia Digital 2030 (MD2030) agenda and Malaysia’s ambition to become an inclusive, trusted and globally competitive AI Nation by 2030. MD2030 sets several national targets, including increasing the digital economy’s contribution to gross domestic product (GDP) to 30%, creating 500,000 high-value digital jobs, realising RM4.5 billion in public-sector savings through digitalisation and delivering 95% of government services fully online from end to end. MyGOV Malaysia Embarks on a New Era with Agentic AI
The Ministry of Digital announced that it is exploring the integration of Agentic Artificial Intelligence (Agentic AI) into the MyGOV Malaysia application as part of efforts to deliver smarter and more responsive government digital services. Unlike conventional AI that typically responds to user prompts, Agentic AI can understand context, plan appropriate actions and assist in executing tasks across digital services. Malaysia Launches Rakyat Digital to Strengthen AI and Digital Capabilities
The Ministry of Digital launched the new Rakyat Digital portal at Malaysia AI Takeover 2026 (AIMTO_26), supporting Malaysia’s ambition to become an AI Nation by 2030. Rakyat Digital serves as a national digital learning hub, bringing together initiatives aimed at building digital literacy, providing access to learning opportunities and encouraging practical adoption of digital and AI tools.
The initiative supports Malaysia Digital 2030 Action Plan targets that include achieving an 80% digitally literate population and reskilling 700,000 workers. IFAC Highlights How Technology Is Changing the Role of Auditors
The International Federation of Accountants (IFAC) highlighted how AI, data analytics, cloud technologies and automation are reshaping the role of auditors and the capabilities needed to remain trusted in an increasingly digital environment. Auditors are moving beyond testing individual transactions towards providing assurance over systems, data, sustainability information and digital trust.
